Milan Malpensa Airport before your flight: lounges, restaurants and useful stops
Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) has two terminals, and in each you can eat, rest and wait on both sides of security: restaurants and hotels before it, lounges, cafés and family rooms beyond it. Each facility below says where it is and links its official page, with its hours and who may use it wherever that page gives them. Airport services change with the seasons, so check that page before you travel.

Milan Malpensa Airport in a minute
Milan Malpensa Airport has two passenger terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, linked by a free shuttle bus. Terminal 2 is dedicated to easyJet, whose departures leave from it, with bag drop at Area 32; your airline confirms which terminal your flight uses. Malpensa is a different airport from Milan Linate (LIN) and Bergamo (BGY).
Your airline sets when to arrive at the airport and when its check-in opens and closes, so follow its times for your flight.
Check-in and security at milanomalpensa-airport.comIn Terminal 1, the railway station and car rental are at level −1; arrivals and baggage reclaim are on the ground floor, in two areas, Arrivals A and Arrivals B; boarding is on the first floor, check-in on the second and a food area on the third. Beyond security, boarding area A serves Schengen flights and boarding area B, past passport control, flights outside the Schengen Area. Terminal 2 has check-in, security, a waiting area, the Alda Merini lounge and baggage reclaim on its ground floor.

Assistance for reduced mobility
Sala Amica, the airport's assistance for passengers with reduced mobility, is free and run by SEA. Request it from your airline, travel agency or tour operator when you book, and at least 48 hours before departure; without a request, the airport assists you as soon as it can, but the wait may be longer. Arrive at least 2 hours before a domestic or Schengen flight, and 2 hours 30 minutes before any other.
On departure, report at a check-in desk or at a Sala Amica call point: in Terminal 1, departures entrances 13, 15 and 19, arrivals entrances 4 and 7, car park P2 at level −1, the railway station and the car rental desks; in Terminal 2, car park P5, departures entrance 3, arrivals entrance 7 and the railway station.

If your flight is delayed
If your flight is delayed or you miss a connection, your airline is generally the one to rebook or refund you: go to its desk, and keep your documents and the times.
Follow your flight on the screens, on the airport's flight information or with your airline.
Departures at milanomalpensa-airport.comRestaurants, lounges and services keep their own hours, and beyond security what you can reach depends on your terminal and on passport control.
For a long wait beyond security, the lounges above are places to rest. Before security, the Sheraton has direct access to Terminal 1, and the Moxy beside Terminal 2 keeps its bar and grab-and-go open 24 hours a day.
Report a missing or damaged bag to your airline's lost-and-found desk inside baggage reclaim, before you leave it, to obtain a Property Irregularity Report (PIR); something lost in the terminal goes through the airport's own lost-property service.
