The drive between Milan and Crans-Montana, about 245 km, takes approximately 3 hours 45 minutes in normal traffic, over the Simplon Pass by Domodossola and Brig, then along the Rhône valley. Traffic or accidents can extend the journey to around 5 hours or more.
The Simplon road stays open in winter, but heavy snowfall can close it because of avalanche risk. When it is closed, or the day's conditions advise against the pass, your chauffeur takes the Great St Bernard tunnel instead, about an hour longer, and we set your pickup time for that road. In winter, every vehicle in the fleet we operate runs on winter tyres and is prepared for winter driving.
If you would rather take the train, SBB's journey planner shows the connections for your date from Milano Centrale across the Simplon to Brig and Sierre, then by funicular or bus to Crans-Montana. Works on the line through Domodossola change some trains, so check the complete itinerary before you travel.
